No. The  credit card holeder, used for the security deposit, can also be a passenger who is not a driver. A different card  than the one used to pay the booking may also be used. Obviously the card holder must be present at the pick-up time  to sign the rental contract where it will be indicated as guarantor.

No, the credit card deposit is not a charge. A pre-authorization is made with which the availability of the sum requested as a security deposit is verified. This sum is "made unavailable" until the cancellation (or closure) of the pre-authorization that will take place at the return  after the verification of the vehicle by our staff.
The balance will be available again on the card one to eight working days after the cancellation date, depending on the bank's policy. For some  cards the update of the balance can take up to thirty days, depending on the issuing bank (Carbustec has no role during these times and can not in any way intervene to reduce them).

The security deposit to be paid at the time of vehicle pick-up varies depending on the type of vehicle and the protection package chosen:

• BASIC PROTECTION the security deposit will be equal to the collision damage waiver which is indicated alongside the CDW abbreviation present on each vehicle category.
• SILVER PROTECTION: the security deposit will be equal to the deductible indicated by the chosen protection package.
• GOLD PROTECTION: the security deposit will be equal to the deductible indicated by the chosen protection package.

For example, for an A1 ECONOMY car:
a) BASIC PROTECTION (included in the base rate) CDW 800 = DEPOSIT €800
b) SILVER PROTECTION: deductible €400 = DEPOSIT €400
c) GOLD PROTECTION: deductible €200 = DEPOSIT €200
 

At the time of pick-up, a legible and valid driving license must be presented. Another document may be required to verify the residence. Photostatic copies of documents are not accepted. Provisional licenses are not accepted.

The basic prices always included the third party liability insurance (TPI) with a ceiling of EUR 6 million and collision damage waiver (CDW) with a n excess that varies according to vehicle category. The CDW excess is indicated in the description of each vehicle category.

Yes, you can add an ALL RISKS insurance with a reduced excess by flagging the appropriate box among the various accessories and extra services available in our online booking system or you can add this insurance at the counter at the pick-up time.

In order to offer favorable prices, our rates provide a mileage limitation. This is specified in each vehicle category. The mileage limits have been prepared taking into account what is the average use of our customers but, if you need it, you can increase the mileage limitation through our online booking system or you can request the upgrade at the pick up  time.

Of course, through our online booking system  or in our office at the  pick up time you can increase the limited mileage choosing among the proposals for each vehicle category.

Do not worry, if you have exceeded the mileage limitation you will be able to pay the extra kilometers at the return of the vehicle. The cost of each extra kilometers is indicated on our website in the description of each vehicle category  and will be shown on the rental contract.

Fuel is not included in the rental cost, the vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel present at the pick-up and indicated in the rental contract.

This is a mandatory price supplement for the rental of vehicles of the Cat. A1, A2, A3, A4, S2,S3,S4,S5, M1 and M4 by drivers aged between 18 and 21 years or who have obtained a driving license for less than 1 year , which will have to pay an extra € 10 for each day of rental. The supplement can be paid through our online system booking  or at our office at the pick-up time.
